The sensor unit of the EAD 10 consists of an XY type stereo condenser microphone and a trigger unit which are individually adjusted by Yamaha engineers. By attaching the sensor unit to the upper part of the bass drum striking surface hoop (as shown in the attached photo), the sound of the entire drum set can be monitored in high quality with natural balance and orientation.
■Monitor and record high-quality acoustic drum sound
The drum sound picked up through the EAD 10 sensor unit can be clearly monitored through headphones or recorded and played back on the main unit's internal memory or USB memory. It also has an AUX jack, which allows you to connect a portable music player or other device to play music while simultaneously monitoring the player's playback sound and the high quality sound you've made.
■A variety of effect sounds that expand the possibilities of drummers
The EAD 10 can enhance drum sound by applying the desired effect to the "audio signal" captured by the sensor unit microphone. In addition, "trigger signal" can be taken from the trigger of the sensor unit, and the trigger tone can be added to the bass drum strike sound and played. The EAD 10 main unit features over 30 effects such as reverb and delay, and over 750 trigger tones. In addition to 50 preset scenes, you can customize preset scenes to store 200 unique scenes. By adding various tones to the acoustic drum, the expression of the drum performance expands. It is also expandable with drum triggers and electronic drum DTX pads sold separately.
■Expandable with Rec'n'Share, a free iOS app
Rec'n'Share is an iOS app. When you select a favorite song from the library, the app detects the tempo and adds a click. Also equipped with tempo change and repeat playback function, it strongly supports drum practice. Also, if you shoot a video using the app on your iOS device, you can easily create a high quality performance video captured by EAD 10, and mix, simple edit, and upload in the app.
