Vintage WW2 Patch 1st Marine Division Guadalcanal USA USMC Military Combat

Description

This is a 1st Marine Division patch - found recently at a collector's garage sale. The patch is diamond shaped - though the edges are not perfectly straight. I did a side-by-side comparison with this patch, and a newer patch under a UV light; the fabric of the 1st Division patch does not glow.
It measures about 3-1/4 inches by 2-3/4 inches; and it is in used condition - it has minor frayed edges, and some staining.
