    Description

    Vintage Plomb Proto Hub Puller 4001-B. Excellent condition. Name is obscured on the forging, shows Plomb on the hex of the screw. Plomb and Proto used the same number, apparently from the same manufacturer. Pulls wheel hubs on cars and light trucks, and ideal for many other pulling requirements. Can be used as a cap screw puller with bolts up to 1/2".
    Be sure the pressure screw threads are clean and well lubricated: I prefer SAE90W gear oil, it has extreme pressure additives.

Seller has extensive background with tools. He worked for the WHOLE EARTH CATALOG from '69 through '71 as a **Tools Guy** as well as photographer and proofreader. ("Fred says:", well, that's him when he was a whole lot younger.)
