VI Corps Patch Embroidered on Felt White Back WWII Vintage Italy Anzio France

The Patch:  This auction is for
One WWII Original VI Corps shoulder patch embroidered on felt with a white back.
This patch is in good condition.  The previous owner's label is on the back.  It has a very nice white backing.  This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic.
The History: The VI Corps embarked for the Mediterranean Theater in February of 1943.  The corps trained in North Africa then attacked
Italy
at
Paestum
.  They fought up the
Italian
Peninsula
until they were relieved in January 1944.  On January 22, the Corps landed at
Anzio
.  They were able to withstand fierce German counterattacks, and advanced on
rome
, which fell on June 6, 1944.  The VI Corps was then used by the Seventh Army in the assault on
Southern France
.  The corps pursued all Germans out of Southern France and then moved into
Germany
.  They eventually pushed to
Innsbruck
,
Austria
where they accepted the surrender of the German 19th Army.  This was one of the rare Corps that participated in three assault landings..

I try not to post items with excessive wear because I want you to get good quality items. I try to post good photos of each item but they get shrunk down when they appear in the listing.
