Description
Very Rare US Model 1840 Ames Cavalry Officer Sword Damascus Quillback Solingen. One of the rarest Civil war era sword to ever find and one of the most stunning. Believed to be sold by Ames this stunning cavalry most likely general or high ranking officer sword has a gold washed damascus clauberg solingen blade. It has heavy hardware and is a very solid and quality piece.100% original period piece dating to the 1840s or 50s. This was a custom special order sword that at the time would have cost equivalent to 10s of thousands in today money. This is a top of the line sword of the time and truly a stunning heirloam. From my research this is one of only a handle of these that exist in the world! Very few were ever made to start due to the cost and even fewer are left today. This histoic saber is a must have for any highly advanced military or civil war era sword collector. I can only confirm the existence of 2 of these swords the other with a different scabbard and a slightly different blade motif. So really both are unqiue. The other example being available for 15K i have matched this price!Lets be serious now if you want this sword send me a message and i will get you in touch with me directly espcially since this is such a big and expensive sword.
Blade is perfectly straight, no rust, no evidence of cleaning, no damage, blade is very tight in the handle! Many more images just not enough room to get every important angle and surface in 12 photos.
Serious inquiries only!
