    Description

    This item is a M1852 style sword used by USN officers. It has a narrow blade 31 3/4 inches long. commonly in use in the 20th century. Scabbard is in excellent condition stamped with the numeral "19" on the brass furniture indicating it was manufactured in 1919. The sword is marked "MADE/USA". Marked with "USN" on the D guard. The blade is richly etched on both sides with military and USN motifs, fouled anchor, and star of Damascus. The pommel is decorated with the likeness of an eagle. Fine quality ornate hilt with original fish skin wrapped grip and original twisted wire. The sword is unsigned.
