    Description

US Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked with is the walking bear stamp which supposedly stands for Abraham Kuller Zu Wald, he was a Solingen sword maker active from 1847 to 1880. The grip is tight but the guard does have some movement. The wood grip shows light surface loss and there is a row of wood missing below the last wrap of wire (right above the guard). The twisted wire is complete. The unusual clamshell looks like an actual clamshell with a silver colored eagle on it. The quillon is bent. The knuckleguard has been removed at some point. The round pommel is more like the diplomat style than the standard Staff and Field type. The blade is straight, unsharpened, the tip is blunted, and has small minor age spots scattered throughout. The scabbard is solid with no dents. Leather washer is intact. Length of the blade measures 25 1/4"
    (9/16" wide x 3/16" thick)
, length of the sword is 30 1/4", and overall in the scabbard it is 31 1/8". Interesting Piece!
