    Description

US Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Sword. Ricasso is marked with "The Pettibone Bros Mfg. Co." over "Cinti.O" and the reverse has the Knights head stamp that stands for C.R. Kirschbaum. The guard and grip are tight but the pommel cap is loose. The silver colored grip shows light wear. The twisted wire is complete. The fixed clamshell has the typical eagle with flags on it on one side and the folding side has the shield with flags and rifles. The etched blade has a beautiful blued eagle and "US". Overall the blade is mostly clean, some nicks, unsharpened, the tip is sharp, and there is a very slight bend about 4" up from the tip. The washer is missing. No scabbard. Length of the blade measures 30" (11/16" wide x 3/16" thick), and the overall length of the sword is 36 13/16".
