This is unique Civil War H
eavy Cavalry
sword. I
found this sword on a big military show.  Sword is in good condition. Sword has original scabbard with mark : small horse ( see picture) .  Sword length without scabbard is 41,5 inch or 105 cm. Blade length 35.5 inch or 90 cm. Blade has marks:  " F. H."
Sword has metal guard with mark: " J B Kershaw ".
Joseph Breward Kershaw - Confederate General (his photo and biography on one of the picture).  I studied the information about this general. Traditionally, the general had a 3-4 sword, a sword for battles and a spare for it, a sword for parades and also swords for a gift to distinguished officers. I showed the sword to three independent experts and received a positive response to the belonging of this sword to the general.
This sword is a part of US Civil War history.
