The SL-1500C inherits the technology cultivated in the development of the new Technics turntable and is based on the basic design used in the SL-1200GR released in 2017, including the single-rotor coreless direct-drive motor, dual-layer platter, and dual-layer housing, and is optimized for this product. The new phono equalizer has also been newly added. In addition, a new built-in phono equalizer allows this product to be connected directly to audio equipment without a PHONO input. A cartridge is included in the package, so record playback is possible immediately after connection. In addition, an auto-lift-up function that automatically lifts up the tone arm when record playback is finished is included.
