    Description

For auction is a fine vintage Reed & Barton silver plated pitcher. Stamped into the pitcher base is Reed & Barton, 5460, and below with two round circles (a target) and left arrow into the center indicating 1936 as the year of manufacture (see image 5). The pattern, Mayflower, is said to be discontinued in the 1940's (later revived).
Another symbol is seen above Reed & Barton a dotted circle with a five-point star within it. This symbol is not for the date 1947, since that symbol has a solid circle and star. I was not able to learn what this symbol represents, perhaps (but not sure) indicating the piece was silver plate.
The pitcher is beautiful and remarkably contemporary in design, especially the shaped handle, a wonderful pattern overall that looks great with other silver patterns.
The pitcher is in very nice condition as seen in the first four images, polished and nicely maintained, free of no dents or scratches. The picture is part of the description.
The pitcher stands 8-1/4" (see photo 1) and from handle to spout is 8". It weighs 2 lbs 2 ounces.
