To My Wonderful Customers, over the next several weeks/months I will be listing a good amount of sea glass from my personal collection; pieces I had never planned to part with.
In order to meet my financial goals, regarding the future of my daughters, I’ve realized it’s time to let go of some of my most prized treasures. Sea glass is my passion, but my children are my heart, and in order to provide them with the opportunities they need to thrive in life (opportunities that aren’t available in our location), it’s time I parted with my material treasures in exchange for a better future for my children. For this reason, return customers may notice that some of my listings differ from the sea glass that I normally sell. In some cases, if I can remember where/when I came across a particular piece or pieces, I will make note of it in the description. However, many of the very rare pieces were actually passed down to me from my grandmother. When she was traveling the world, she would walk the beaches, collecting shells and sea glass as well as matchbooks from every state, city, town and country she visited. While my mother has the matchbook collection, I was given the shells and sea glass. The pieces collected by my grandmother were never labeled, so while I can make an educated guess on a piece’s origin, based on color or countries I know she visited, I regretfully admit I never thought to ask her if she remembered where most of her collection was accumulated. But my grandmother was an amazing woman, and I’m thankful for everything she had taught me as well as all the things she’d done for me during her life. Sincerely, Beth
