    Description

Five (5) Queen Elizabeth II and Seaway 1967 first year issue 4 cent carmine rose-colored Canadian postage stamps honoring a very special event - Expo 67! Some refer to it as "the most successful World's Fair of the 20th century." It even had a monorail. This International Exposition was a general category 1 World's Fair held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada from April 27th to October 29th, 1967. 62 countries participated. It's motto: Man and his world." It was perfect because Canada was celebrating its 100th Centennial birthday! I adore these stamps so I held just one back for me (a 6th one). Here are five (5) of them for you. 3 of them have the official circle symbol of the fair event cancellation. 1 has a square cancel. The last one is stamped with "Visitez Expo67 Montreal 1967." They are all affixed to pieces of torn up post card stock. One stamp has a right-hand side Imperforation. One has a left-hand side imperforation. Another has a left-hand side AND bottom imperforation. And yet another has a bottom imperforation. The 5th stamp is perforated. This is a special group to treasure. I haven't seen any others.
