Pre-Civil War Model 1833 NP Ames Cutler Dragoon Sword-Saber w/Scabbard-1837

Description

Pre-Civil War Model 1833 N.P. Ames Cutler Dragoon Saber with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked "N.P. Ames Cutler Springfield 1837". The brass knuckle guard has "H.K.C." (Henry Knox Craig) and "O.R.D." on it, the quillon has "T.W.", and the guard is deformed. The grip is tight, has 60% of the leather wrap and all of the wire wrap is gone. The pipe backed blade has "United States" on it, very light sharpening marks, the tip is barely sharp, and there are age spots throughout. The leather washer is intact. The scabbard is solid, no dents, and has light surface rust throughout. Length of the blade is 34 1/4" (1 1/8" wide and 5/16" thick), the sword is 39 5/8", and overall in the scabbard it is 41 1/2".
