    Description

    A WORLD WAR II ISSUE CANTEEN WITH US CAVALRY MOUNTED EXTENSION FOR BELT  AS ISSUED TO US CAVALRY TROOPER EARLY IN THE WAR FOR THE COMBAT BELT. THIS TYPE OF EXTENSION WAS ALSO SOMETIMES FAVORED BY AIRBORNE TROOPS FOR THEIR COMBAT BELT.
    THE CANTEEN COVER IS FADED TO A LIGHT KHAKI AND ALTHOUGH CLEARLY SHOWING SOME FIELD WEAR IS MOSTLY CLEAN. THE "US" IS CLEARLY VISIBLE ON THE FRONT.THERE IS A NAME WRITTEN IN INK ON BOTH SIDE OF THE CLOSING FLAPS. THE BELT MOUNTING EXTENSION IS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT DOES HAVE A RIVET THAT HAS LOST ITS BACKING. IT IS STAYING TOGETHER WELL AND IS STRONG.
    LASTLY, THE CANTEEN IS A WORLD WAR I ISSUE WITH MANY DENTS. IT IS MARKED BY THE MAKER "LF & C 1918"
    THERE IS NO CUP INSIDE THE COVER.
