    Description

Civil War M1840 Import Heavy Cavalry Sword Unmarked with Two Ring Scabbard 44 inchs
This was more than likely a Confederate Calvary sword. No markings what so ever...Very typical of the Confederates.
Good possibility this was used in the Mexican war as well. 1846-48.
This particular sword came out of Leesburg Virginia in a very historical home. Leesburg went back-and-forth throughout the war. The scabbard was painted many years ago with silver paint to try to preserve it. The sword is very straight and sharp.
Well holding this up in the air ...I can Imagine the confederate officer screaming with a rebel yell!
Overall this is in very good shape. This would make a very good piece in anybody’s collection.
Although this is has no markings on it… It is more than likely German made. This is just my opinion… And I am no expert!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
