Remainder of blade is ground into a tang that ends in a crudely formed threaded end with a nut. D guard is made from sheet iron that shows many marks made from hammer forging. Handle is made from antler, not bone. Over all length is 21 3/4 inches. Blade is 15 inches long, 1 1/2 wide and very sharp. Only active rust noted is the the last 1/4 inch of the blade tip.
