CONFEDERATE 1861 TREDIGAR ARMORY RICHMOND FLAT SIDED SCABBARD
This black leather socket was made for the Tredegar armory flat sided socket bayonet that has no flutes on either side Richmond 1862 musket.                                                                                                                                                                                                                It differs slightly from the standard model as it is a little smaller & the usual bayonet will not fit in it.                                                     I have one with the original scabbard & this scabbard fits the flat sided bayonet fine.                                                                               It is 15 1/8” long 7 is missing the throat & tip but has most of the stitching intact.                                                                                    These bayonets are quite rare & are seldom have the scabbard with them.                                                                                             This scabbard would make a welcome addition to anyone that has one of these bayonets & certainly would increase the bayonet value!
