    Description

    Here I have a set of coiled wire that is correct for the Ames 1833 dragoon. It it also correct for select 1850 foot and staff officers swords but not all of them. Nearly impossible to find and missing on 75% of the swords. Most have been redone with twisted wire but only coiled was used when they were originally made. I have included a picture of a rewrapped grip using this wire,
    The grip IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE AUCTION ONLY THE WIRE.
    I can also rewrap your grip, or sell you a complete grip. If you need the service or the grip contact me. I have been asked why there are some flaws in the wire. This was done on purpose as a 200 year old wire is not going to be perfect. To the naked eye they flaws are seen is such a fashion that it looks like 200 year old wire that has some use. If you want perfect stuff I can do that also but its too perfect for my use.
