Ricasso blade markings: "AMES Mfg. Co. Chicopee, MASS./ U.S. C.S.L. 1864"  Handle is tight to sword overall.  "Geo. Kugler" marked on the brass throat of scabbard and on the knuckle-bow. Opposite side of knuckle bow marked, "JH" Scabbard leather is torn in 3 places, small throat lid on scabbard missing, thus leaving a small gap when scabbard is fully in.  Brass end point on scabbard marked, "G.W.C.".  A beautiful original piece that warrants further research.    See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
