    This is a guaranteed old bayonet for a Sharps or Spencer Rifle being offered without any reserve.
    The form and location of the locking ring as well as the mortise match the pattern correctly.
    The dimensions also match up: the length is 21 1/2 inches, the blade length is 18 1/2 inches and the socket diameter is 0.82 inch.
    It matches perfectly the one shown on the World Bayonet internet site, Bayonet Identification, Socket Bayonets, page 5.
