    Description

    Very good condition original Civil War British Pattern 1856 Enfield bayonet. 22 ¾” blade has original bright finish with some graying. Edge has a few nicks. Remaining metal has mostly brown patina. Checkered leather washer grips show some normal wear. Lock button and leaf spring function fine. Fitted in an original French Chassepot scabbard that has original black paint with some flaking to brown patina and a few dents. Also complete with an original pre WWI British leather frog. Leather is soft and supple with some normal wear. Belt loop has a tear. Stitching is tight. Complete with scabbard strap and buckle. A nice original British P1856 bayonet for your collection.
