ABSOLUTELY STUNNING BARBIE DOLL celebrating Barbie's 40th ANNIVERSARY!
This special Barbie was produced as a LIMITED EDITION of 20,000 dolls.  She is Barbie #23041, and if I remember  correctly, dolls from this Limited Edition were only made available to members of the BARBIE COLLECTORS CLUB!!
She is known as the "Bumblebee" or "Gala" Barbie.  She is fashioned with a tiny bumblebee pin attached to her dress (see photo #2) to remind us of what is possible when we set our minds to it, because by looking at the large size of a bumblebee and the tiny size of its wings, it would seem that the bumblebee should not be able to fly ... and yet, it does!
Barbie's gorgeous 2-tone dress features generous folds of material at the bottom (see photo #3).  Photo #3 also gives a view of the included stand.  Barbie also wears a ring on her finger (see photo #4).
The inside of the box cover features inspirational and celebratory messages, including a message about the significance of the bumblebee.  See photo #5.  This inside cover notes the Limited Edition of 20,000, and also states that Barbie's dress is satin; that it includes a rhinestone chain and a train; that she wears a tulle stole and drop earrings; and that the color of the dress matches Barbie's birthstone!
Barbie has never been removed from the box, and she is in MINT condition.  I have included a photo of each side of the box, which is also in MINT condition.
I am the original owner, and this has always been stored with my collection in my smoke-free, pet-free home.
