Authentic Civil War Model 1840 Wristbreaker Calvary Sword Saber w/ Scabbard

Straight from an estate sale in Kentucky comes this Authentic Civil War Model 1840 Wristbreaker Sword Saber w/ Scabbard. The sword measures: in the scabbard 35 1/2”. The sword itself 33 1/2”. The blade 28”. The sword has a wonderful vintage patina and looks absolutely beautiful on display. There are a couple of issues with the sword. At some point one of the brass pieces on the hand guard has been cut into. This could very well have happened in battle, but no way to know for sure. Also, at some point the blade has been sharpened (see photos for both issues). Personally, I don’t think either does much to hurt such a wonderful piece of history. I do not see any maker’s markings on the sword or the scabbard. Scabbard shows normal usage wear and paint loss. Sword fits tightly inside scabbard. Great addition to any collection.
