Description

Up for bids is this antique original Model 1840 U.S. NCO sword by "Collins & Co., Hartford, Conn." This is a scarce and desirable maker. The straight single edged blade is just under 32" in length and is straight. It is gray with scattered speckling and it is dated "1862". It has a solid brass grip and guard that are in very good condition and firm to the blade. The edge has several tiny nicks and has seen no sharpening or abuse. It came to me in a nice early quality replica leather and tarred scabbard.
