Antique c1780 Fine Georgian Sheffield Silver Plate Ewer / Pitcher

Description

Presented is a great old Georgian Sheffield silverplate ewer. This piece dates to around the 1770s-1780s. The ewer is done in a handsome  classical form, with an applied beaded design around the rim and the foot. Around the midpoint is an applied band of swag and medallion decoration. The handle is fabulously hand carved in an elegant scrolled design, made from a rich mellow wood, possibly pear wood. The ewer is nice and clean, inside and out.
The pot is in great overall  condition. The juncture between the lower part of the handle and the body of the pot has an old solder repair, though this isn't visible on the interior so it appears to be a surface repair only. The handle is in great shape, with no chips, no cracks, and no looseness. There are no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no other repairs.
The pot stands about 11 7/8 inches tall.
