27 Inch Long Pre-Civil War Sword Scabbard

Description

Here is an antique brass scabbard for a straight bladed sword, probably a militia officer’s sword with a knight or eagle pommel or something similar. There are no hanger rings, only a frog stud. This as well as the fact that the scabbard is relatively undecorated points to this as being probably for a junior officer who would’ve worn this on a baldric. The inside wooden liner is missing, and there are a couple dents. It’s 27 inches long, and would fit a 25 or 26 inch blade nicely.
